Strengthening Our Plan B Services: Tim Harris Steps into New Role

Leading the Way: Tim’s Journey at Plan B Group.

We’re proud to share that Tim Harris has officially stepped into the role of General Manager Operations for Plan B Services. In this new role, Tim will lead all operational aspects of the Services department, building on his strong foundation as Project Delivery Manager for our Project Management team.

 

A Surprising Start to Tim’s Long-Term Career

Tim’s journey with Plan B started back in 2014, although not quite how you’d expect. He initially interviewed for an admin role. While that didn’t pan out, our Adrian saw something different. 

“I didn’t get the admin role, but Adrian offered me a Project Manager role instead. I was applying for construction-based roles at the time — that’s where my background and interest have always been. I was keen to find a role that was practical, structured, and hands-on. Project management just made sense.” 

That moment marked the beginning of an impactful career for, driven by one central theme at Plan B, people come first. 

 

The Power of People-First Leadership

One of the biggest lessons I learnt early on was that Plan B isn’t just about getting tasks done, it’s about getting the right people in the right roles and supporting them to succeed. When you get that part right, everything else tends to follow.” 

Tim credits much of his growth as a leader to the opportunity he’s had to learn under leaders with very different but complementary strengths. 

“I’ve worked closely with two great leaders who approach things in their own unique ways. One has a really practical, supportive approach, always focused on backing people and helping them find a way forward. The other is more direct and structured, with a strong focus on clarity and accountability. Learning from both has shaped how I lead today.” 

 

A Broader Vision for Services and Success

Now, as the leader of all Services teams at Plan B, Tim is focused on driving even more consistency, alignment, and collaboration across the business.

“There’s a real opportunity here. We have solid foundations, great people, and a strong culture. My role is about taking all of that and elevating it – improving processes, aligning systems, and helping teams work even more effectively together.” 

 

Customised Solutions, Consistent Results

A key part of that is building on our ability to fast-track success for our clients. 

“No two developers are the same,” Tim says. “That’s why we need a consistent base product with the flexibility to tailor it for each client. It’s how we stay agile, responsive, and easy to work with.”

This focus on flexibility and client success ties directly into Plan B’s reputation for streamlined design, audit and compliance solutions, supported by the AAA Advantage — fewer variations, faster approvals, and smarter outcomes.

 

Building Stronger Connections Across Teams

Tim’s also passionate about deepening cross-team awareness, helping people better understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture. 

“One of the most exciting parts of this role is being able to encourage even greater collaboration across teams. The more people understand how their role impacts others, the stronger we become as a group.” 

Supporting people’s growth will continue to be a top priority. 

“I want to make sure we keep creating space for people to grow, through clear expectations, well-defined processes, and ongoing conversations about what’s next. Part of my role is about supporting that journey.” 

So what can teams expect from Tim’s leadership? A focus on clarity, consistency, and connection. 

“We’re all different…different roles, personalities, working styles. But when you create a space where people feel comfortable, heard, and know what’s expected of them, they’re free to do their best work. That’s what I’m aiming for.”

“It’s a tough industry sometimes, and positivity matters. At the end of the day, it’s not ‘my’ project or ‘your’ project, it’s Plan B’s project, it’s the client’s project. And the question is always: how can we help?”
