We’re proud to announce the appointment of Robert (Rob) Palmer as Project Delivery Manager at Plan B Comms, bringing with him decades of leadership, practical problem-solving, and team-focused delivery. (And before you ask… no, he isn’t the singer!)
Rob’s career is anything but conventional — and that’s what makes it so powerful.
Before joining Plan B in 2019, Rob spent over 30 years in hospitality, including service in the British Army as a chef and soldier, and 15 years running his own business. High-pressure environments, teamwork, structure, and delivering results under tight timelines — all part of his DNA.
“I was looking for a new direction when I saw a job ad for a Trainee Project Manager at Plan B. The name made me laugh — it felt like fate. This really was my own Plan B.”
A Steady Presence with a People-First Approach
Since joining as a Trainee Project Manager, Rob has built a strong reputation across Plan B Services for his measured leadership style, collaborative mindset, and ability to connect with people at every level.
“I never set out to be a leader. But through encouragement and trust from others, I started to realise I had something to offer — not just in how I work, but in how I support others to succeed.”
Now, as he moves into his first formal people leadership role, Rob is excited to bring his experience, perspective, and humility into a new chapter within Plan B Comms.
“It’s a big shift moving into Comms, but I feel supported. The culture here gives you confidence. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and contributing in a new way.”
Building a Confident, Capable Team
Rob’s goal in the year ahead is simple: foster a strong, confident team that feels heard, backed, and capable of tackling challenges together.
“I don’t see myself as ‘above’ the team — I’m part of it. I just happen to be in a role that lets me support others to do their best work.”
It’s an approach that aligns deeply with The Plan B Way — built on Mutual Respect, being People Focused, bringing Passion & Positivity, staying Open & Honest, and always striving to Evolve & Innovate.
When asked which value resonates most, Rob didn’t hesitate:
“Mutual Respect. It underpins everything — relationships, team dynamics, decision-making. When people feel respected, trust follows.”
A Career Shaped by Adaptability and Integrity
From the structure of military kitchens to the pace of hospitality and the complexity of civil delivery, Rob’s career has always been about backing himself, learning fast, and supporting those around him.
“It’s always about we, never me.”
As Rob takes on this new leadership role, we’re excited to see how he’ll shape the next phase of project delivery at Plan B Comms — with authenticity, clarity, and a strong focus on people.
Congratulations Rob, and welcome to your next chapter as Project Delivery Manager!
